The buffet is a great alternative to the traditional banquet, where each guest has to allocate a certain space at the table. The buffet is good for occasions when you need to receive a large number of guests in a small space. Another advantage of the buffet table is that the guest serves himself and the hostess only needs to carefully prepare and arrange the buffet table so that everything goes smoothly.

Instructions

Step 1

Set up the buffet tables so that guests can easily move around the room, having access to each table from all sides. That is, you should not move tables against the wall. Be sure to provide small tables in the corners or along the walls of the hall. Smoking accessories are placed on them: cigarettes, matches, lighters, ashtrays. Consider the location of the dirty dishes table.

Step 2

Cover the tables with tablecloths. As a rule, plain tablecloths of dull shades are chosen for the buffet table. The most practical are dark tablecloths, the most impractical are white.

Step 3

Place stacks of plates, glasses and glasses on both sides of each table, place cutlery in an "envelope" folded from a cloth napkin. By the way, the best option for a reception-buffet would be plain dull dishes or white dishes.

Step 4

According to the rules of the buffet table, after each emptying, a dirty plate is placed on a special table for dirty dishes and for a second approach to the table with snacks, the guest must take a clean one. In practice, this means that clean dishes should be displayed "with a margin". Consider a threefold supply of crockery for each guest. That is, three cutlery (a snack plate, glass, fork) should be displayed for each invitee. Whether he will use them is another question.

Step 5

Next, arrange the dishes symmetrically on both sides from the middle of the table in the following order: snacks and sandwiches, salads, hot dishes, dessert and fruits. Be sure to place salt, pepper, gravy boats between the dishes. The edges of the table are left unoccupied with dishes so that the guest can place a full plate on one of them. You can do it easier by setting aside a separate table for the dishes and already on it, laying out the slides of plates, forks, putting out wine glasses and glasses. On other tables, let there be only dishes with food.

Step 6

Before taking a meal, think carefully about what you will serve. The buffet dishes are various cuts, sandwiches, tartlets, canapes, salads, snacks, decorated with herbs, fruits and vegetables. It is not forbidden to offer guests a hot dish, cut into small pieces. Be sure to offer guests a selection of drinks. Let it be mineral water, wine, champagne, fruit juices.
