Christmas balls are an essential attribute for decorating a Christmas tree. Of course, you can buy them in the store, but no factory product can convey the thrill and soulfulness that were invested in the manufacture of a handmade toy. In addition, children can be involved in the process of creating New Year's decor, because joint work not only brings together, but also contributes to the development of creative thinking.
Christmas ball made of postcards
Necessary materials:
- old postcards;
- compass;
- ruler;
- pencil;
- glue;
- awl;
- decorative tape or lace.
Manufacturing:
On the back of the postcards, we draw twenty circles with a radius of 3.5 cm with a compass, after which we cut them out with scissors. On the back of each circle, draw an equilateral triangle using a pencil and a ruler or a prepared template for this purpose. We bend each circle from three sides along the outlined lines. To make the bend even, you need to use a ruler.
We make half of the ball from five fragments. For this place of bends, grease with glue and connect the parts together. In the upper part we make a small hole with an awl and pass a decorative ribbon or lace through it. We glue the remaining blanks in the same way, after which we collect the whole ball.
Christmas ball made of paper
Necessary materials:
- colored paper of 3 different colors;
- stapler;
- thin wire;
- glue;
- lace.
Manufacturing:
Draw 4 circles of the same size on colored paper of each color. You can simply circle a small glass or a pre-prepared cardboard template. Cut out the drawn circles with scissors.
We bend each circle in half, after which we put all the blanks together. In this case, it is necessary to alternate colors (color 1, 2, 3) in the following sequence - 122331122331. We drag a stack of circles with a thin wire, superimposing it on the fold line, twisting the ends together. If you wish, you can fasten paper blanks with a stapler.
We straighten the circles, and then glue the adjacent halves together. Each piece should be glued to two adjacent halves, one at the top and the other at the bottom.
CD Christmas ball
Necessary materials:
- New Year's transparent ball without a pattern;
- unnecessary CD;
- scissors;
- glue Moment;
- bright decorative ribbon.
Manufacturing:
Cut the CD into small pieces of various shapes. Since it is difficult to cut a CD, it is best to use a sharp garden shears for this purpose. Next, we begin to glue the cut parts to the New Year's ball using Moment glue. We glue the entire surface of the ball so that a small distance remains between the mosaic elements. Place a bright decorative tape inside the ball, which can be seen through the gaps formed between the pieces of the CD.
Christmas ball with corrugated paper roses
Necessary materials:
- corrugated paper;
- foam ball;
- decorative tape;
- glue Moment;
- beads.
Manufacturing:
We cut a roll of corrugated paper into small strips of the same size, after which we twist small roses from them according to the scheme shown in the photo.
We tie the flowers at the base tightly with a thread so that they do not bloom. We cut the legs of the flowers in the thread area. We make a loop from a decorative tape and attach it to the ball. Then we begin to glue the paper roses to the surface of the ball so that there are no gaps. Fill the places where gaps have formed with large beads.
Fragrant christmas ball
Necessary materials:
- orange;
- wide elastic band or tape;
- cloves or cinnamon;
- toothpick;
- decorative tape.
Manufacturing:
We put a wide elastic band on the orange so that it is located exactly in the middle of the fruit. If you wish, you can use regular tape instead of an elastic band. Using a toothpick, make holes at an equal distance from each other over the entire surface of the orange, except for the place that is covered with an elastic band. Insert cloves or cinnamon into the holes made.
Do not place the spices too close together, as the orange will shrink as it dries. For added flavor, the ball can be dipped in other spices. We place the craft in the oven for 1 hour or wait until it dries naturally (about 2 weeks). We attach an elegant ribbon to the New Year's ball, for which it can be hung on the Christmas tree.
Button Christmas ball
Necessary materials:
- multi-colored buttons;
- foam ball;
- sewing pins with a beautiful head;
- decorative tape.
Manufacturing:
Making such a Christmas tree decoration is quite simple. To do this, attach a loop of a beautiful decorative tape to the foam ball, for which it can be hung. Then we string one or two buttons on a sewing pin and simply stick it into the ball. Continue covering the ball with buttons until they completely cover the entire surface.
Christmas ball made of fabric
Necessary materials:
- foam ball;
- trimming any fabric;
- thread or tape;
- any decorative elements (beads, buttons, bows, ribbons, etc.).
Manufacturing:
The process of making such New Year's balls is very simple and will not take much of your time. First, attach a loop of thread or tape to the foam ball. We wrap the blank made of polystyrene in rags of any fabric. Even trimmings from old knitted products and nondescript burlap are suitable for decoration. We decorate the finished Christmas tree decorations with a bright bow, buttons, beads or any other materials that your imagination tells you.
To create Christmas balls from fabric, in addition to foam, you can use any other spherical base (an old shabby Christmas tree ball or any round object), or you can simply stuff the fabric with cotton wool.
Christmas ball with felt flowers
Necessary materials:
- cardboard;
- foam ball;
- felt pink and white;
- threads;
- beads;
- decorative tape.
Manufacturing:
We attach a decorative tape to the foam blank, having previously folded it into a loop. Draw patterns in two colors of different sizes on thick cardboard. We apply a larger flower pattern to a pink felt fabric and outline it along the contour. To create a New Year's ball, you will need many such flowers, so we immediately procure the required amount.
We do a similar procedure with a smaller flower template, but already on white felt. Cut out all the flowers painted on the fabric. We apply white on the pink flower and sew them together, glue the bead to the center of the composition. We collect the rest of the flowers according to the same scheme. With the resulting flowers, glue the foam ball over as shown in the photo.
Christmas ball with filler
Necessary materials:
- transparent Christmas ball;
- any decorative filler.
Manufacturing:
Transparent balls filled with something look very original. Multi-colored confectionery powder, elastic bands for weaving bracelets, beads, beautiful fabric, strips of bright paper twisted into rolls, Christmas tree needles, sparkles, beads, small candies, sugar, etc. can act as a filler. You can also sprinkle sand with small shells into the New Year's ball.
Christmas ball made of coffee beans
Necessary materials:
- foam ball;
- golden acrylic paint;
- coffee beans;
- decorative tape.
Manufacturing:
We attach a decorative string to the foam ball, for which it can be hung on the Christmas tree. Then we cover the workpiece with acrylic paint. After the paint has dried, glue the coffee beans to the ball. To create an original pattern on the New Year's decoration, use grains of different shades. If desired, coffee beans can be glued with an edge, then the craft will be more voluminous and textured. Decorate the finished ball with sparkles, artificial snow, ribbons or flowers from cinnamon sticks. Such a fragrant decoration can be hung on a Christmas tree or presented as a New Year's souvenir.
