Masquerade is a favorite entertainment for adults and children all over the world! This is an opportunity to be who you feel, regardless of age and profession, to fool around or seduce incognito. Just buying a fancy dress is knowingly depriving yourself of the pleasure of anticipating the holiday. So how do you make fancy dress?

Step 1
Come up with an image. Who are you planning to appear at the holiday - Shrek, Carmen, Aphrodite, Catwoman, Spider-Man or an unknown hero or heroine? Let your fantasy run wild!
Step 2
Rummage through your mezzanines, suitcases, wardrobes, and visit fabric, handicraft, office supply stores and even your local flea market if you feel you are missing something. Take the time to explore the mezzanines of grandparents, mom and dad, and your friends.
Step 3
Sketching your costume down to the smallest detail will help you maintain a thoughtful look, improvising as you work on it.
Step 4
Break the costume into its components: a headdress, a mask, a dress or a suit, that is, what will be made of fabrics, shoes, accessories, as well as its various volume-fantasy parts.
Step 5
Make a pattern for your suit. If you are familiar with the basics of sewing and sewing, this should be easy. If this is difficult for you, then you can rip it up and take something from unnecessary clothes for a pattern, or find a ready-made pattern in a magazine or on the Internet. Or ask a friend or someone in your family to help you with the pattern.
Step 6
Tailor your suit or dress, sweep and try on, and then sew on a typewriter or by hand.

Experiment with materials. Use lightweight materials for bulk parts of your suit, such as synthetic winterizer, foam rubber, cotton wool, polystyrene, and cardboard to create clear contours and geometric shapes (hats and caps). Thin wire is suitable for frames, for collars in the Gothic and medieval style - corrugated paper, foil and whatman paper. Buy shiny and colorful gift wrapping paper to decorate your costume. Washcloths and faux fur are suitable for beards and mustaches. Don't forget about wigs, you can buy or rent them.
Step 8
Cut out a classic simple mask with slits out of cardboard and paint it with paints, as well as decorate it with feathers, rhinestones, foil stars, or upholstery in velvet. Volumetric masks and half masks that follow the contours of the face are made using the papier-mâché technique, which can be easily mastered.
Step 9
Style the shoes to match your costume: if it's in an antique style, paint your old flip-flops with silver paint, fabulous running boots can be easily made from worn-out over-the-knee boots, and Turkish shoes from narrow-nosed home slippers.
Step 10
Do not limit yourself, let your costume be slightly ridiculous, but not boring and original. But remember that the best fancy dress is the one in which you can dance and have fun until the morning, that is, light and comfortable! And if no one knows you in it, then the masquerade was a success!
