Any guest for a Kazakh is an event. This attitude was formed several centuries ago, when travelers at the table with treats shared news and news from other places. In ancient times, anyone entering a Kazakh aul was necessarily met by an elderly and respected woman. She served him a bowl with one of the traditional drinks - milk, kumis or ayran. In a similar way, the inhabitants of the aul expressed their respect to the guest, wished him a successful and happy journey.

Like several centuries ago, today Kazakhs welcome their guests with joy and great honor. The newcomers are seated at dastarkhan - a low Kazakh table. If the guest warned in advance about his visit, the best treats will already be on the table by his arrival - beshbarmak, kuerdak, ak-sorpa or Kazakh manti made from meat and pumpkin. And if a guest appears unexpectedly, he is also escorted to the table, treated to tea, ayran or kumis, while the hostess quickly prepares the most delicious dishes. Kazakhs will offer guests all the food that is in the house, even if they themselves risk being hungry later.

However, the hospitality of the Kazakhs does not end with a tasty treat. After the meal, the guest will certainly be offered to relax, and if he goes on the road again, they will collect a sarket for him - a treat. If possible, his travel bag will be filled with all kinds of food, so that he has something to eat on the way and treat the people he meets. As a rule, people who have visited Kazakhs remember the generosity of this hospitable people for a long time.
