Trinity is one of the most beloved and beautiful holidays in Russia. Merged with the ancient Slavic holiday Sedmik, it meant the end of spring and the beginning of summer. On this day, Christian traditions are tightly intertwined with ancient Russian customs and rituals. Nature woke up violently after hibernation: grasses bloomed, trees were covered with leaves. The good mood did not leave the Slavs. The Trinity was celebrated in Russia beautifully and cheerfully.
Instructions
Step 1
Birch is the most festive tree on Trinity. She decorates herself with earrings before the rest of the trees. Therefore, all threefold rites were performed at this tree or with it. The Slavs believed that this tree is endowed with great vitality.
Step 2
Houses and temples were decorated with birch branches and herbs. They were placed in the corners, scattered on the floor, laid on the windowsills. It seemed that all the rooms that day turned into a green grove. It is not for nothing that green was the traditional color of clothing for Trinity. Women wore green kerchiefs, priest - a green robe for service, and men - green shirts. The Trinity was celebrated in Russia beautifully and elegantly.
Step 3
On Trinity, young girls performed rituals. Traditionally, round dances and wreaths were made around the birch trees decorated with red ribbons. As they used to say "curled". The wreath could be curled over yourself or someone else. Young girls and women "idolized" through the wreath. They kissed through him and became lifelong friends. Our ancestors knew how to work and celebrate.
Step 4
And on this day, an elegantly decorated birch tree was carried with songs to the girls' houses, and then, together with wreaths, they were allowed to swim down the river. And at the same time they wondered: if he would nail a wreath to the shore, if you get married in your village, he will carry it along the river - you will not see marriage this year.
Step 5
On Trinity, it was customary to eat eggs in the garden under the birches. And invite godfathers to this meal. They ate from earthenware with spoons. Then they threw spoons into the field and asked to send a rich harvest of bread. And on Trinity, it was customary not to deny the poor and the poor in alms and food.
Step 6
There are also customs in the church: they kneel down three times during the service. And at this time you need to have time to weave three wreaths.
Therefore, they go to church with large bouquets of flowers and herbs. The wreath woven in the church was considered to be endowed with great healing power. He was hung in a place of honor and in winter all those who had colds were given tea from these herbs.
