Moskomsport prepares all sorts of interesting programs for the Day of the Athlete. As a rule, sports events and competitions are held in all corners of the capital. The Day of the Athlete started in the capital with the traditional International Run "Russia", which ran along the route "Luzhnetskaya Embankment - Frunzenskaya Embankment" and back. The total length of the distance is 15 km, and the oldest and youngest competitors ran the symbolic 2012 meters.

The departments of physical education and sports, urban planning policy and the Federation of Trade Unions of Moscow held a sports and sports festival at Luzhniki, which included competitions in volleyball, athletics, kettlebell lifting, mini-football, tug-of-war and many other sports.

At the Sokol stadium near the Kurskaya metro station, an amateur family sports meeting took place. Its program included 11 sports, as well as children's entertainment relay races and competitions. Anyone could take part in the Olympics.

On Gogolevsky, Strastnoy, Tsvetnoy, Chistoprudny boulevards and on Patriarch's ponds, competitions in chess, checkers and other board games were organized for fans of table sports.

Late in the evening in Gorky Park, the Athlete's Day ended with a street dance festival, where representatives of various underground communities demonstrated their skills.
