Carnival masks can be made of any material: paper, fabric, papier-mâché, plaster. Novice creators can easily create a mask out of cardboard and cloth.
It is necessary
thick cardboard, fabric, sequins, rhinestones, feathers
Instructions
Step 1
Decide on your carnival character. For a children's party, you can make a mask of an animal or a fairy-tale hero, adults usually limit themselves to literary characters or just a male or female mask.
Step 2
Make a pattern for the mask on paper. You can find many patterns of masks in themed magazines or on the Internet. We will make the simplest version of the mask, which covers a significant part of the face, so that no one will declassify you at the carnival ahead of time. The mask is an oval of dark velvet with slits for the eyes.
Step 3
Transfer the pattern of the mask to cardboard and fabric. Cut out ovals from fabric and cardboard around the office. In principle, instead of cardboard, you can simply take a denser fabric or fold velvet in several layers.
Step 4
Glue the parts of the mask together.
Step 5
Determine where the eye holes will be cut. Cut the holes. If the edges turn out to be uneven or ugly, then you can use shiny paint, it will optically hide the flaws in the material. You can glue glitter or rhinestones around the eyes, any shiny beads.
Step 6
Take a piece of beautiful fabric, it can be translucent, but in any case, light enough so that you can breathe through it calmly. Sew or glue the fabric along the bottom edge of the mask, tucking lightly so that it covers the lower part of the face.
Step 7
It remains to attach a couple of ribbons or an elastic band for attaching to the head, or you can put the mask on a wooden stick and use it in much the same way as using a monocle.
