If you are dreaming of a completely unusual mask that cannot be bought in a store or cut out of a magazine, the papier-mâché technique will help you. You have to work hard, but the result is worth it. You will have the most unusual mask at the New Year's masquerade.
Make a griffin mask from any plasticine. Better to take old hard plasticine. Dilute PVA glue with water in a ratio of 1: 3. Tear the newspaper into pieces and moisten them with the solution, then thickly cover the plasticine mask in several layers.
When the paper is dry, remove it from the clay. Trim the jagged edges and paint with white acrylic. Paint the mask in any colors with gouache mixed with PVA glue or acrylic. You can paint the mask with patterns. To do this, use contour paints in tubes with a long nose. Bright feathers can be glued between the layers of the newspaper.
The mask will look very elegant if you decorate it with rhinestones or beads. Use a needle to make holes on the sides of the mask, pull an elastic band of the required length through them and tie knots on the inside of the mask.
Papier-mâché makes a mask of any shape and size. It can be a griffin, Baba Yaga, or a Mexican jerboa.
