Probably many of you would like to have a mask of Jason Voorhees, the character of the movie "Friday the 13th" at home, to scare or amuse your friends on some occasion, for example, on Halloween. Where can you get such a mask? It is quite possible to make it with your own hands.
It is necessary
Plasticine, PVA glue, scissors, brush, paper, masking tape, gypsum, bandage, sponge, white and red paint, two flaps of black nylon, two bolts, thick elastic band, drill, children's mask for the base. It is better to take as a basis the mask of some cartoon character (for example, Spiderman), resembling Jason's mask in shape
Instructions
Step 1
So, first, take the base mask and glue it with plasticine so that you get the shape of the future Jason mask. Then stick masking tape on the plasticine and coat the workpiece with plaster. Masking tape is necessary so that, firstly, there are no plasticine particles left in the plaster, and secondly, so that the mask is even from the inside.
Step 2
Coat the dried plaster blank again with a thin layer of plasticine so that the subsequent layers of paper better adhere to the surface. Next, start shaping the mask using the papier-mâché technique: lay out a layer of small pieces of paper dipped in water, then a layer of PVA glue. After a couple of layers of paper, it is better to put a layer of a bandage impregnated with glue - this will make the mask stronger. Make the top layer of thick white paper. And remember that the workpiece should not be too thick - 3-5 mm is enough.
Step 3
After the papier-mâché is dry, cut the holes for the eyes and use a drill to make small holes according to the pattern of the mask. Then, on the inside of the eye holes, cover with rags of black nylon - so that your eyes are not visible when you put on the mask. Next, use the bolts to secure the elastic band that will hold the mask on the head. Now all you have to do is paint the mask white and use the stencil to make red marks.
