The New Year is approaching and it's time to think about how and what to decorate the main attribute of this holiday - the Christmas tree. Of course, you can also use purchased balls, stars or figures for this purpose. However, it will be much more interesting and cheaper to make Christmas toys with your own hands.
With a little imagination, you can actually make very effective Christmas tree decorations. There are many technologies for assembling such crafts. But the easiest way to make such New Year's accessories is still using paper, foam or bright satin ribbons.
Paper garland
Paper is, of course, the most suitable material for making your own holiday crafts. DIY Christmas toys from it can be made in just a few minutes. For example, it will be quite easy to glue a bright garland from this material for a Christmas tree.
The technology for making such a decoration looks like this:
- put a sheet of paper on the table with the long side facing you;
- cut the sheet across into strips about 3-3.5 cm wide;
- glue the strips into rings, passing one through the other.
To make the garland even more elegant, you can use paper of different colors to make it.
How to make DIY Christmas toys: Styrofoam balls
To make such jewelry, you first need to make the foam spheres themselves. You can grind them using a construction knife, sandpaper and a piece of plastic pipe. For this:
- the pipe is cut into two halves along;
- sandpaper is fixed to one of the parts with glue;
- a circle is drawn on a piece of foam, the thickness of which should be greater than the diameter of the pipe;
- cut out a foam cylinder with a knife in a circle;
- grind the resulting large workpiece with sandpaper along the pipe along;
- turn the workpiece across and gently grind until it fits into the tube, thus forming a sphere.
Ready-made blank spheres can be painted, pasted over with bright flowers cut from fabric, sprinkled with sparkles, etc.
Satin Ribbon Toys
So, we figured out how to make DIY Christmas toys from foam. But of course, the tree can be decorated not only with balls. For example, very often toys made of beautiful satin ribbons are used to decorate Christmas trees. As you can already judge from the picture, it will not be difficult to make such decorations.
In this case, in addition to the ribbon itself, you will need a lighter to make toys. First you need to make some satin triangles. For this:
- cut a wide, bright ribbon into squares;
- fold each square diagonally;
- for the resulting isosceles triangles, bend the corners of the base upward with an envelope along the center line;
- fold the resulting multi-layered squares in half diagonally;
- in the multi-layer isosceles triangles made in this way, trim the base with scissors;
- glue the layers of triangles along the edge of the base with a lighter flame.
At the final stage, you just need to glue the triangles together along the edge from the side of the bases with the same lighter. To make the satin cube even more beautiful, just glue a bead into the top of each triangle. You can hang a Christmas toy made in this way on a Christmas tree on some shiny beautiful cord.
