New Year's decor for many women is a way to make their home even more comfortable and create a festive atmosphere. And what, if not a fireplace, creates this atmosphere on cold evenings. Of course, a decorative fireplace will not add warmth to your home, but it will greatly cheer you up and will delight you for more than one year. And most importantly, it is done at minimal cost.
It is necessary
- - ordinary cardboard boxes
- - glue
- - Styrofoam
- - stationery knife
- - white acrylic paint
- - newspapers
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to make a frame for the fireplace. For this we need ordinary cardboard boxes. They need to be selected depending on the height and width of the fireplace you would like. It is most convenient to take two boxes of the same height (they will be on the sides) and one smaller by 10 cm (it will be on top).
Step 2
Next, we glue them together with the letter P, creating a fireplace frame. For greater stability of the structure, you need to glue a stand made of the same cardboard. If you want a fireplace that will serve you for years to come, you can reinforce it on top by gluing another layer of cardboard. Then you will not be afraid to put small things on it.
Step 3
To make it easier to paint over the fireplace, you need to glue the places where we glued the boxes together. Simply put, we glue all the cracks with a newspaper so that they are not visible.
Step 4
We paint over everything with acrylic paint and let it dry.
Step 5
To simulate bricks, take a sheet of styrofoam and cut out rectangles of the same shape. If the sheet is too thick, then each rectangle can be cut in half so that the bricks are not too convex.
Step 6
We glue the bricks in a checkerboard pattern.
Step 7
The finished fireplace can be decorated as you wish. Christmas socks look very nice on it, and inside the fireplace you can put a garland of white or yellow color.
