A handmade gift can be made of any material: fabric, beads, glass, stone, plastic. Even the shape isn't critical - you can donate a tie clip, wallet, phone case, or whatever. Only two factors are important: firstly, it was made by you, and secondly, it was made beautiful, neat and durable.
Instructions
Step 1
Draw on paper what you are going to give. It is advisable if it is a small object, on an enlarged scale, so that there are no difficulties with drawing small details. The more detail you write down your idea, the clearer you will understand what exactly and when to do it. BUT: if you've never tackled the material to work with, learn the basics of handling it. Better yet, grab what you are more or less familiar with.
Step 2
Prepare all the materials and tools needed to make the gift. For example, for a phone case it will be fabric, threads or beads for embroidery, suede or other fabric for applications (of your choice), needles, a sewing machine, a decorative chain, a button for fastening. The set may vary depending on your idea.
Step 3
Get to work. Cut out the details, process the edges of the fabric. After that, make an embroidery or applique. If you work with wood, then the technology is completely different: apply water to the workpiece several times, walk with a sandpaper after each portion of water. After that, a layer of base, or background, is applied again, the sandpaper, and then the contours of the drawing are applied with a thin hard pencil.
Step 4
If you are working with fabric, sew the details after applying the pattern. Sew on the chain - its owner will hang it around the neck. The button will fasten the cover. When working with other materials, follow the general rules for working with them.
