Decoupage candles with paper napkin
At the end of each year, we are all faced with the problem of choosing a beautiful, original, New Year's gift. This is a very difficult and troublesome business. This article will help you make a unique New Year's souvenir with the least effort, time and money.
For this you will need
1. Candle.
2. Paper napkin.
3. Scissors.
4. Metal teaspoon.
5. Source of fire.
The candle can be any size, but not too thin. The optimum diameter is 5-6 cm. It is advisable to choose a light color. On this one the drawing is better visible.
It is better to take a three-layer napkin with a New Year theme. It is a little more expensive than an ordinary paper napkin, but its drawing is clearer and it is more convenient to work with it.
We select the necessary fragment of the napkin and cut it out with scissors. The length of the piece should be several millimeters longer than the diameter of the candle. But not by much, otherwise the seam will be too noticeable. The width or height of the piece is done in the same way with a margin. Here you need to leave 1-1.5 cm of the allowance, which will be wrapped under the base of the candle. For decoupage, you need a top, colored napkin layer. Remove the other two layers.
We wrap the candle with the cut out fragment so that the upper edges of the napkin and the candle coincide. We heat the spoon over the fire, but not for long, otherwise the paraffin will melt strongly. We draw a spoon over the candle. In this case, the paraffin will melt, as if gluing a napkin to the candle.
So, periodically heating the spoon, we iron the entire napkin with it, and gradually glue it all to the candle. Having passed the entire side of the candle, wrap the napkin under the base, and also smooth it with a spoon. When the whole piece is glued to the candle, wipe it off with a rag or towel. This will smooth out some irregularities and remove excess gloss.
Your exclusive New Year's gift is ready. Optionally, you can pack it in mica.
