In Europe and America - at Christmas, and in Russia - on New Year's in every house, on every street, at every store, flashing colored lights appear, decorating doors, walls or a Christmas tree. However, while admiring the whimsical play of the lights of the garlands, do not forget that this is not only a cute decoration, but also an electrical appliance. This means that when decorating a room with garlands, certain rules must be followed so that the decoration only pleases you and your loved ones, and does not become a source of ignition.

The main thing in a garland is its safety. Therefore, even before hanging the decoration, check it carefully. The insulation on the garland must not be damaged; when plugged into the outlet, the garland must in no case spark or smell of burnt rubber. If everything is in order, you can start decorating. A ribbon garland is usually hung on a Christmas tree, starting from the top of the head and moving downward with girdling movements. If you have a mesh garland, it is better to decorate a wall or door or window with it. However, a cone-shaped net will work well on a tree: just slide it on top of the tree.

When hanging a garland on a Christmas tree, make sure that the cord does not get tangled in the needles, and that the bulbs do not shine deep into the tree, but outward. Remember that first the spruce is decorated with a garland, and only then with toys. Try to keep the tree decorations from being pressed tightly against the light bulbs or cord. If there are small children or animals in the house, or you are expecting young guests, you should not wrap the lower branches of the tree with a garland-ribbon so that irresponsible kids or kittens do not pull the wire. After the garland is hung, make sure it is secured well and will not fall off the tree.

You can hang the New Year's garland according to the Eastern teachings of Feng Shui. It is believed that the bright light that the sparkling lights create can activate energy. But what the force of this energy will be - destructive or creative, depends on the location of the lights, that is, the lights of the garland. If you want to get your personal relationship off the ground, warm up your career success, hang a garland in the western part of your apartment. If you need to improve your financial situation, place the lights in the east. It is better to leave the southern and northern parts without decoration: according to Feng Shui, these are unfavorable places for the energy of light, they can turn the flame of love into fires of quarrels, and even attract thieves to the house.
