Reading poetry is an art form that combines the skill of an actor with the skill of a poet. Reading contests are numerous and range in level from amateur to professional. To hold such a competition at any level, you need to have good organizational skills.
Instructions
Step 1
Think over the terms and conditions of the competition. Develop a sample program according to which the contestants will select works. Determine the basis of the competition - commercial or non-commercial. In the first case, the prize will be formed from the participants' contributions fund, in the second you will have to look for a sponsor. Open an account in advance to which (subject to appropriate conditions) the participation fee will be paid.
Step 2
Find a venue for the competition. The ideal option is the assembly hall of a recreation center, school or other institution. It is important to immediately determine whether the administration of the hall will charge for rent and in what amount.
Step 3
Notify as many people as possible about the competition using social networks, forums, blogs and other media. Do not forget about real communication: report the competition and its website to friends and acquaintances interested in poetry.
Step 4
Prepare the stage and hall. Sound-amplifying and other equipment should be ready: speakers, a microphone, if necessary, a video projector (if a video sequence can be included in the reading program) and an audio player (for musical accompaniment).
Step 5
Prepare prizes. Select the jury members who will evaluate the performances of the readers. Designate a day (or several days, depending on the number of competitors) and the time of the competition, distribute in minutes at what time each participant begins to perform. If spectators are foreseen, prepare paid or invitation tickets. Think about ways to implement them.
Step 6
On the day of the competition, relax, behave calmly, smile at the guests and competitors. Periodically check the performance of the equipment and the condition of the stage.
