On a hot summer day, there is an irresistible urge to go from the stuffy city to the beach to enjoy the refreshing coolness of the water and relax in the shade of the coastal vegetation. Before deciding to open the swimming season, take care of choosing a place to relax and a pool for swimming.
To ensure that the selected body of water is safe for swimming, look for information about it on the Internet or in the local media. As a rule, during the swimming season (from May to September), sanitary and epidemiological control of water bodies and beaches located within or near cities is carried out. If the investigated resting place complies with sanitary standards, then information about this is brought to the residents through the media or by placing signs on the beaches with the words "Swimming is prohibited!" or "Bathing is permitted."
If the coastal zone is not landscaped, then the water body is unlikely to receive the status of a permitted recreation site for use. When the beach area is littered or cluttered with construction equipment, then such a body of water is not suitable for swimming. Only a well-maintained, controlled coastal zone is an indicator of the safety of a water body.
Ideal for swimming is the reservoir, the banks of which are equipped with changing cabins, toilets, trash containers and a parking lot. There should also be a medical center and a professional rescuer on duty.
When obtaining permission to use a water body as a recreation area, the presence of showers, sports grounds, rental of swimming facilities and a cafe where you can eat is also taken into account. For children, a special shallow water zone is fenced off on the ponds, where swimming is safe.
The bottom of the pond, safe for swimming, must be free of debris and thick algae. An industrial enterprise should not be located near the water body, since there is always a risk of contamination of the reservoir with toxic chemicals during their discharge.
Reservoirs with stagnant water are also not suitable for swimming, since they always have a silted bottom, and due to the lack of running water, harmful bacteria and parasites proliferate rapidly, contributing to the development of serious diseases.
