Step 1
Decorate your computer desktop by setting New Year wallpapers. If you don't have holiday pictures on your computer that you can set as your background image, find them on the Internet.

Replace the usual icons "trash", "my documents", "my computer" for New Year. For example, use the Santa Claus sack icon. To change the appearance of ordinary yellow folders, use collections of New Year icons for your desktop from the Internet. To replace the default set of desktop icons, find the Desktop tab under Display Properties. Then select "Desktop Settings", click on the icon that you want to change, and by clicking "Change Icon" and "Browse", select the folder with the icons previously downloaded from the Internet.

To change the icon of a folder, right-click on it and, selecting "Properties" and then the "Settings" tab, click on "Change icon". Then proceed in the same way as described in the previous step.
Step 4
Change cursors to New Years. Instead of a simple arrow, you can put a snowflake, icicle or a small Christmas tree. You can also find them on the net. To change the cursor, find the properties of the mouse through the "Control Panel". Go to the Pointers tab, select the cursor mode you want to change. Click on the "Browse" item and navigate to the folder where the holiday cursors are stored.

Go online to decorate your computer with New Year's animation that can make your desktop look truly fabulous. To add it, under "Display Properties" select the "Desktop" tab. In the "Desktop Settings" section, click on the "Web" tab. Click on Create, then click Browse. In the animation folder, select a specific picture.
