Vladimir Ivanovich Nemirovich-Danchenko is the greatest Russian and Soviet theatrical figure: director, teacher, critic, playwright. Born in December in the small town of Ozurgeti (modern Georgia). One of his main achievements is the founding of the Moscow Art Theater. Nemirovich-Danchenko was one of the first to receive the title of People's Artist of the USSR.
