Robert Koch is a celebrity in the world of surgery
The famous physician and microbiologist Robert Koch was born on December 11, 1843. This man saved the lives of millions of people by researching the pathogens of anthrax, cholera and tuberculosis. Koch had a medical education, worked in many hospitals and military hospitals, where he began to study microorganisms that cause diseases. Once for his birthday, his wife gave him a microscope, and since then Koch has not parted with him. He stopped his medical practice and began to closely engage in research. He is best known for his works on the study of tuberculosis. The microorganisms discovered by the scientist were called Koch's sticks, and he himself was awarded the Nobel Prize.
Koch became the author of medical postulates that are used to identify microorganisms.
Maurice LeBlanc - Conan Doyle's rival
The writer Maurice LeBlanc was born on December 11, 1864. LeBlanc is best known for his detective stories about Arsene Lupine. This character had the interesting appearance of a "noble robber", a gentleman thief with sophisticated manners and coming to the aid of the disadvantaged. LeBlanc's books were so popular that they rivaled those of Conan Doyle of his day. One of the books was even devoted to the confrontation between Lupine and Sherlock Holmes. Alexander Solzhenitsyn - dissident writer
Alexander Solzhenitsyn was born on December 11, 1918. He became famous for his poignant socio-political works denouncing the Soviet regime. In 1945, Solzhenitsyn was exiled to a correctional camp, where he was sentenced to life in prison. This is reflected in the most significant works of the writer - the novels "The First Circle" and "The Gulag Archipelago". In 1956, the writer was rehabilitated, but later again lost the position of the authorities. Recognition came to him only in the 1980s.
Solzhenitsyn was very interested in politics, and also published a number of works on the modern history of Russia.
Nikolay Ozerov - athlete and commentator
Nikolai Ozerov was born on December 11, 1922. Ozerov played tennis since childhood, and in 1934 he became the Moscow junior tennis champion. Later he achieved many victories in this sport and received the title of master. Another hobby of Ozerov was theater. He graduated from GITIS and performed more than 20 roles on stage, playing in the Moscow Art Theater. When television began to develop rapidly, it turned out that Ozerov was ideally suited for the role of a sports commentator - he knew sports well and had stage speech skills. Ozerov conducted dozens of reports from various countries and received the title of People's Artist.
