Day of the theater cashier is one of the youngest professional holidays, which has been celebrated only since 2009. That year, Alexander Berezovikov, deputy director of the Shelter Komedianta theater operating in St. Petersburg, suggested paying attention to the activities of people who, in fact, are the key link in ensuring the financial well-being of any art institution - theater cashiers.
This initiative was supported by the heads of other theaters, first in St. Petersburg, and then throughout the country. As a result, the first Monday in March became the day when theatrical cashiers receive well-deserved recognition of the significance of their work and congratulations on their professional holiday from colleagues and spectators. However, this memorable date has not yet become international: it is celebrated only in Russia. One of the closest analogues of this holiday in the world calendar of memorable dates is, perhaps, the World Theater Day, which is usually celebrated on March 27.
