This sacrament is the first step of a child to the Christian faith, his introduction to the church. At baptism, a person receives a new church name and acquires his heavenly patron.

Step 1
Currently, the baptismal ceremony is performed mainly in temples. To baptize a baby, first select the church where you want to baptize.

After that, agree with the priest, who will baptize the child, about a specific date and time for the christening.

Purchase a baptismal set for your baby in advance. Usually, it includes everything you need: a baptismal shirt, a diaper and a bonnet. You can buy such a set at any children's clothing store. Don't forget about the towel. It should be large so that you can properly wrap the baby in it after baptism.

Be serious about choosing a cross. It is best if it is small and always with rounded edges, then the baby will not get hurt. You don't need to buy a gold or silver cross right away. For baptism, buy an ordinary metal, and later - a more expensive cross.

Remember that baptism only happens once in a lifetime. Take care of the filming in advance or entrust this important matter to one of your friends.

After your baptism, fold your baptismal gown, towel, and candles into a beautiful bag. Store them in the baby's room, then the baby will be less likely to get sick.
