You don't have to be a super poet to write original happy birthday poems. The main thing is to treat the birthday person well and have a sincere desire to bring him joy. A secondary matter is the ability to compose rhymes and know some of the subtleties.

First, decide who this man is to you. If it is a father, brother, husband, relative, loved one, friend or good friend, then refer to him in a poem in "You". Insert his name into rhymes in different variations, because usually a person's own name is almost the sweetest sound.
Step 2
If you are writing poems for your birthday to your boss, colleague or simply not so close person, then address your wishes more formally to "you", using the name and patronymic in the verses.
Step 3
Now think about it and write on a piece of paper a list of the distinctive features that the future birthday boy possesses. It is important to remember all the virtues here, starting from the color of the eyes, the advantages of the figure, as well as the personality traits, professional qualities and achievements of the applicant for congratulatory odes.
Step 4
Now, for each virtue, come up with a metaphor. For example, blue eyes can be compared to clear lakes, in which, depending on the situation, you can drown, or you can plunge. Keep in mind here that some men are not particularly fond of sentimental speech. But many, nevertheless, have a sense of humor. Therefore, funny rhymes may be suitable for them.
Step 5
Just don't overdo it with wit. Because the degree of perception of humor is different for all people. And if one person perfectly perceives comic phrases addressed to him, then to another they may seem offensive. In any case, avoid ambiguity in phrases. That is, put only one meaning in each word or phrase so that you do not get a caricature of the birthday man.
