Only an artificial tree can stand all year round without losing its attractiveness, color and needles. But the charm of a living forest beauty, its New Year's aroma and freshness of spruce cannot be replaced by any artificial trees. How to make the live Christmas tree stand at home all the holidays and even longer?

Instructions

Step 1

You should take care of the storage time of the tree at the stage of its purchase. Choose a Christmas tree with a thick, needle-covered trunk. A too thin trunk is a sure sign of illness. In the girth, the base of the forest beauty should be at least 6 cm. The branches are frequent, resilient and densely covered with dark green needles, not yellow. Bend the branch of the Christmas tree - it should easily take its original position, not break or crumble. Gently squeeze the needles with your fingers, an oily, fragrant aroma will remain on your hands. The absence of a stunning smell of needles in a freshly cut Christmas tree will give out frostbitten or stale spruce.

Step 2

If you bought a forest guest in advance, long before the holidays, wrap it in wrapping paper or wide newspaper, wrap it with tape and place it on the balcony. Having brought the tree into a warm room, do not immediately unfold it from the packaging, gradually warm it to the temperature of the room, otherwise the needles will crumble very quickly.

Step 3

Before installing, the tree must be chopped down, cut off the lower branches and put in a basin of water overnight. If you plan to place the wood in water, as recommended, dissolve an aspirin tablet, half a teaspoon of salt, and a tablespoon of sugar in it. Aspirin will prevent the growth of putrefactive bacteria, while salt and sugar will provide nutrition. Don't forget to add water.

Step 4

Another recipe for a nutrient solution for the Christmas tree: mix 3 liters of water with 5 g of citric acid and 5 g of gelatin. Pound a spoonful of chalk there.

Step 5

To put the spruce in a container with water, you will need a special stand - a tripod (not an outdated cross). A tripod holder allows you to place a container of water inside the stand. Give the tree some stability by cutting off some of the lower branches.

Step 6

Wet sand can be poured into a container for a Christmas tree, into which a chopped trunk can be stuck. It will give stability. When the sand dries, simply dampen it with water.
