Instructions
Step 1
Before inviting a veteran to an evening or going to his home with congratulations, think about a gift. There are not so many former front-line soldiers left, they are all people of the old school, and gifts must be chosen in accordance with their views and habits. A good book, a photo album, an interesting souvenir (including one made by oneself) is always appropriate. A military theme is not at all required, although if your veteran is, say, a retired officer, he will most likely like a book about war. You can make a book out of veteran memories. They need to be collected in advance, find a sponsor and contact the publisher, since anyone can publish a book at their own expense now.
Step 2
Contact your local media. Congratulations are usually accepted there. It can be just a small text, a module or a slide with a thematic picture, the favorite song of the one you want to congratulate. It is possible that some of the journalists will be interested in the fate of your veteran and want to write an essay about him or shoot a story.
Step 3
Have an evening. A veteran can tell, for example, schoolchildren about the war times, and the guys can prepare several numbers of amateur performances. At the end, the veteran needs to be thanked, congratulated on the holiday and presented with a gift and a bouquet of flowers.
Step 4
If you want to congratulate several veterans at once, you can arrange a gala dinner for them. Find out from the committee for social protection of the population how best to do this. In many constituent entities of the federation, funds are pledged for this. If there is no such item in the regional budget, you can contact large enterprises, charitable foundations, deputies, etc. Renting a small cafe and making the corresponding order will not be a problem. Prepare amateur art numbers. For such cases, performances by children's groups, good stage, light jazz, author's song are suitable.
Step 5
Arrange an interesting excursion for veterans. This could be a day trip to some of the most important battlefields in your area, or a trip to a museum. You can buy tickets for a good concert of professional groups, and for the theater. Of course, on one condition - that your veterans are still vigorous, full of strength and able to withstand such a load. It is better if the performance or concert is in the afternoon.
Step 6
Organize a movie show. This can be done at a school, club, or coffee shop. The choice of films must be approached very carefully. Old Soviet war films are preferable. Not all veterans treat modern Russian and foreign films on this topic with understanding.
Step 7
Invite a veteran to the exhibition. It can be an exhibition of children's works, works of arts and crafts, painting, graphics. As a rule, on the eve of Victory Day, thematic exhibitions are opened in various cultural institutions, so that the performance of the veteran and his celebration will be quite appropriate.
