On March 21, 22 and 23, Nauryz Meiramy is widely celebrated in Kazakhstan. This holiday arose among the eastern peoples before the adoption of Islam, therefore, it is devoid of religious orientation and rituals. For Kazakhs, Nauryz is a symbol of fertility and friendship, spring renewal and the triumph of love. On holidays, people dress in smart clothes, exchange congratulations, visit each other and give gifts. The main dish of the celebration is called nauryz-kozhe. It consists of seven ingredients: meat, water, flour, salt, milk and cereals. Various entertainment and sports events take place on this day. All three days in Kazakhstan are non-working.
Step 2
The main national holiday of Kazakhstan is Independence Day. It is celebrated annually on December 16th. It was on this day in 1991 that the Supreme Council of the Republic adopted the law on state sovereignty and independence of Kazakhstan. On the eve of the celebration, the President awards outstanding citizens of the country for services to the fatherland. On holidays, cheerful folk festivals are held throughout the republic. Concerts and festive events are held in many localities. In honor of gaining independence, fireworks and fireworks are issued. December 16 and 17 are non-working days in the country.
Step 3
New Year is the most popular holiday in Kazakhstan. In villages and cities, mass festivities are held around the Christmas tree, accompanied by Father Frost and the Snow Maiden. In New Year's towns, fabulous figures and towers are fashioned from snow and ice. The holiday is accompanied by triple horse riding, fun contests, delicious treats and gifts. On December 31, residents of the country set a large table, invite friends and family to visit and, under the chimes, wish each other a Happy New Year.
Step 4
Also in Kazakhstan, religious holidays are widely celebrated - Eid al-Adha and Kurban Aity. Eid al-Adha marks the end of the fast that lasted for the month of Ramadan. On this day, Kazakhs put on their best clothes, cook national dishes, and after prayer they set tables and invite neighbors and relatives to visit. Eid al-Adha is a holiday of sacrifice. On a holiday, a Muslim is obliged to sacrifice an animal. Prayers are read in mosques, a dastarkhan, a festive table, is served in houses.
Step 5
The most famous holidays in Kazakhstan are also considered to be Christmas, International Women's Day, the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, Victory Day, Capital Day and Constitution Day.
