The Danish Carnival, the largest event of its kind in Scandinavia, is held every year in the north of the country in the city of Aalborg. Here you can see performances by bands from all over Europe, dance numbers and tricks performed by real professionals.
Instructions
Step 1
Check the dates of the Aalborg Carnival on the official website of the event, it is available in Danish and English. The period is indicated at the top left of the page. There you can also familiarize yourself with the program of the holiday and find out the topic of the year you are interested in in the Program section.
Step 2
Buy tickets to Denmark. Unfortunately, Aalborg Airport does not accept international flights, so you will have to fly to Copenhagen. Nonstop flights from Moscow are operated by Scandinavian Airlines and Aeroflot. Flights with one intermediate connection are offered by Air Baltic, Estonian Air, Aerosvit Airlines, FinnAir, Air Berlin, LOT-Polish Airlines, Turkish Airlines. You can get from Copenhagen to Aalborg by regular bus, rail or rental car.
Step 3
Apply for a Schengen visa to Denmark. The list of documents required for its opening is presented on the official website of the Denmark Visa Application Center.
Step 4
Choose your option to participate in the Danish carnival. First, you can attend the event as an ordinary spectator. To do this, you need to purchase an entrance ticket. This can be done online on the official website of the event.
Step 5
Secondly, you can become a volunteer assistant. Every year, the administration of the carnival recruits about 50 people to help organize the celebration. Please note that volunteers begin their preparations a few days before the show starts.
Step 6
Third, you can become a direct participant. To do this, write an application addressed to Sjaja Haddidi, attach the program of your speech and send it to [email protected]. After agreeing on the details and approval of the production by an independent jury, you will be informed about the financial conditions for participation and the time of the dress rehearsal.
Step 7
Come to Aalborg in time for the event.
