Surely some of you, being invited to a wedding, wondered about choosing a gift. It is safe to assume that your choice fell on money, since most of the invited guests choose them as a presentation.
How to calculate the minimum amount of a cash gift for a wedding
Undoubtedly, choosing money as a gift for a wedding, the question of the amount arises sharply. How much money is better to give as a gift to newlyweds? There are no clear answers and exact amounts, it all depends on many factors, for example, on where the newlyweds live, they are simply friends or relatives, and if relatives, how close you are to them. However, first of all, the amount of the gift is determined based on the financial capabilities of the donor.
If the newlyweds live in a small village or small town, one thousand rubles may seem like a good amount, but for residents of regional cities, such a gift can be very modest.
In Russian cities, it is quite normal to give about two or three thousand rubles from one person, and 4-6 thousand rubles from a couple.
Since the price level in large cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg is different, it would be nice to raise the bar to 5-15 thousand rubles or more. In Ukraine, usually give 1-2 thousand hryvnia, you can donate 500 if the relative is not very close. In small settlements, they often give the minimum amount - 100 hryvnia.
Colleagues, classmates, distant relatives and neighbors can give the minimum amount.
Having learned approximately how much a wedding banquet will cost per person, and multiplying it by half, you can calculate the minimum monetary gift. Naturally, everyone has different costs for a wedding: some rent a boat or a house outside the city, while others celebrate the day of the creation of a family in an inexpensive and cozy cafe or even at home.
Wedding with relatives
The wedding of your beloved niece, who grew up in front of your eyes, is not a reason for saving, the minimum amount can be presented to your nephew if you have seen him several times in your life. If possible, you can give your brother or sister 10-15 thousand rubles, and children and grandchildren - everything that has been accumulated for this significant event.
A gift from parents, according to one of the unspoken rules, should be significantly more than the amount invested by the most generous guest as a gift. A cousin, who recently became a mother, is unlikely to be able to allocate more than three thousand from the family budget, but a respectable uncle is able to give his beloved nephew even 50 thousand rubles, allowing himself a broad gesture.
In case of severe financial difficulties, you should not even worry about the amount of the gift, knowing that a person is currently not able to afford to give a large amount of money, it is unlikely that someone will condemn him. You can cheat a little, so that after someone else's wedding you do not remain "on the beans", and take with you the largest amount that you can give and see how many other guests will give, you probably will not have to give all the money.
