There are just over two weeks left before the New Year. If your apartment is still not decorated for the holiday, then it's time to take care of it.
1. Christmas tree
The easiest and most obvious way to fill your home with a festive atmosphere is to dress up a Christmas tree. You should not do it too early, as well as delay until the last moment, all-such green forest beauty before the New Year pleases more than after. It will be optimal to decorate the Christmas tree on the twentieth of December, especially if the plant is alive and not artificial.
Tired of the toys that you hang on the tree from year to year, but you don't want to buy new ones? Then try to make decorations from sweets - sweets, figured cookies, gingerbread. Another interesting design idea is to tie a large number of bows made of ribbons of two colors, for example, red and gold or blue and silver, etc. instead of balls.
2. Garlands
A Christmas garland can be hung not only on a Christmas tree, but also placed on a window, a chandelier, a cornice, a picture hanging on the wall, and even on indoor plants. A very popular option for interior decoration is the use of a large glass vase or a beautiful bottle, inside which a light-like garland should be placed, then you will have an original New Year's lamp.
3. Candles and candlesticks
Candles create a mysterious and festive atmosphere in the apartment no worse than garlands. They can be placed in spectacular candlesticks, for example, in the form of a lantern. Candles can also be used flavored, and it is best to choose those aromas that are traditionally associated with the New Year - conifers, citrus, spice aromas (cinnamon, vanilla).
4. Spruce branches and artificial frost
A very spectacular and unusual decor item can be made with your own hands using spruce or pine branches and ordinary rock salt. To do this, dissolve a kilogram pack of salt in 1.5 liters of pure water, bring to a boil, and then dip the branches into the mixture. Place them vertically in a vase and leave for a few hours, or overnight. In the morning you will find how the salt has crystallized, and the needles are covered with "frost". To give it a different hue, such as blue, simply add the appropriate watercolor paint to the saline solution.
5. Festive wreath
A very nice decor item, very popular all over the world, and more recently in Russia. You don't have to buy it at the store. To make a homemade Christmas wreath, you need spruce branches, thick and thin wire, as well as cones, ribbons and other decorations.
First, twist a ring of thick wire, then spread fresh branches around its entire perimeter and secure them with a thin wire. In the place where you can see the junction of the branches, fasten a large bow made of satin or velvet ribbon. If desired, decorate the wreath with cones and other elements using the same thin wire or thread. Hang decor on your front door.
6. Patterns on the windows
You don't have to wait for real frosty patterns, but draw them yourself using a mixture of tooth powder and water, as well as a watercolor brush. Another, easier way to decorate windows is to attach paper stencils in the form of stars or snowflakes to the glass and spray on top with special artificial snow from a spray.
7. Christmas balls and decorative vases
An interesting New Year's decor can be made by simply folding Christmas balls, cones and walnuts into a beautiful vase or wicker basket. Such a composition will look harmoniously on a side table in the living room or on a dresser in the bedroom. An interesting idea for kitchen decor: on a platter, place oranges stuffed with clove buds, and cinnamon sticks tied with ribbons.
