For several years in a row, a new public holiday has been celebrated in Russia - the Day of the Teacher and All Preschool Workers. The purpose of its establishment was to draw public attention to the problems of preschool institutions, issues of education and preparation of children for school. Now the workers of preschool institutions and those who are engaged in the education and upbringing of children under 6 years old have their own professional holiday.
The date of the holiday was not chosen by chance - on September 27, 1863, the first kindergarten in Russia was opened in St. Petersburg, which was organized by the Simonovich spouses. This institution accepted children 3-8 years old. The educational program was very diverse, the children were engaged in outdoor games, construction, they were taught the course "Homeland Studies". The experience of working with children was generalized and disseminated through the magazine "Kindergarten", which Adelaide Simonovich began to publish a little later.
Many years have passed since then, and nurseries and kindergartens have become an obligatory stage of upbringing and education for the overwhelming majority of adult Russians. Many of them, having become big, remember their teachers and nannies with warmth and love, and some have carried through their whole lives friendship, which began in kindergarten groups.
As usual, this year the Day of the teacher and all preschool workers will be held in Moscow and other cities of the country without much fanfare. It is not celebrated on the same scale as Teacher's Day. But on this day, solemn events and open classes will be held in all preschool institutions. It is expected that the mayor of the city, Sergei Sobyanin, will congratulate Moscow educators on their professional holiday.
Parents and relatives who have come to open classes that day will be able to take part in various entertainment programs and outdoor games with their children, return to distant childhood and feel like carefree kids. Children and parents will prepare congratulations for educators and handmade gifts. The program of the holiday in each childcare institution will be different, but teachers, nannies, cooks, janitors and security guards will get the same pleasure. Each kindergarten employee who will accept congratulations on this day bears his share of responsibility for the safety, health, development and good mood of the young citizens of our country.
