Victory Day is one of the most significant holidays in Russian history. According to the established tradition, on May 9, a military parade is held annually with the participation of equipment and troops, as well as the veterans of the Great Patriotic War themselves. Step 1
Visit the Moscow parade. Keep in mind that Red Square itself can only be accessed by personal invitation, which can be received by some veterans and various representatives of the military leadership. If you do not belong to these groups of the population, watch the day before the rehearsal of the parade, which is usually held on Khodynskoye Pole. There is also an opportunity to see the passage of military equipment to Red Square. To do this, at about eight in the morning, come to the Leningradskoye Highway near the Dynamo, Belorusskaya or Tverskaya metro stations. If you do not have time for the vehicles to reach the square, you can catch them returning along the Garden Ring and Novy Arbat. To do this, you can stop near one of the exits to the Barrikadnaya metro station.
Step 2
If you do not live in the capital, watch the parade in your city. It usually starts at 8-9 am. The exact time and place information can be obtained from the regional press and from local internet news sites. Usually there are no special passes for such parades, and anyone can attend them. In this case, come to the place of the procession in advance in order to take a comfortable place for viewing. Take your camera with you, as photography is usually allowed at such events.
Step 3
If you cannot attend the parade yourself, watch it live on TV. In this case, you can often see even more than the people who are directly at the scene. In addition, the broadcast is complemented by interesting historical commentary. The parade is shown by the main federal channels - First and Russia. In the event that you find yourself abroad or live there permanently, you can watch the broadcast on the RTR-Planeta channel or use one of the Internet sites broadcasting Russian television.
