An egg presented at Easter means the beginning of a new life, thanks to which it is customary to give colored eggs to each other on Easter Sunday. They are eaten at the table, given to loved ones, given to the homeless and taken to church services. According to legend, eggs should be painted on Maundy Thursday. They can be painted traditionally, using natural and artificial dyes, or you can use your ingenuity and imagination.
It is necessary
- - hard boiled eggs
- - food and natural dyes
- - markers and wax pencils
- - improvised means (threads, ribbons, scotch tape)
Instructions
Step 1
Painting in onion skins. This is the most famous method, using which, you get a brown color of different saturation. For painting, you need to put raw eggs in a boiling broth and cook for 10-15 minutes. Then take out and cool.
Step 2
Painting with natural dyes. Many products in everyday life have a coloring effect. For example, beets give a pinkish color, light yellow can be obtained from lemon or carrot juice, eggs will be bright yellow in a decoction of calendula flowers. You can get blue and blue eggs with the help of red cabbage broth, green ones from spinach, and beige ones from coffee. To obtain a decoction, boil water with 1 tbsp. l. vinegar and the desired dye, let it brew for 30 minutes. After that, boil the eggs in the resulting broth, for a brighter color, you can leave them in the dye overnight. If colored eggs are dipped in vegetable oil and wiped with a napkin, they will begin to shine.
Step 3
One of the easiest ways to dye your eggs is to buy food coloring. The sachet details how to use them. But there are also ways to use them: dilute the dyes with water in different cups with 1 tbsp. vinegar. Dip hard-boiled eggs in any color and hold until they acquire the desired shade. You can also make multi-colored eggs: first dip one half into a cup, after drying - the other half in a different color.
Step 4
You can dream up a little and come up with patterns for eggs. To do this, cut strips, circles, Easter-themed silhouettes from self-adhesive paper, stick them on boiled eggs and paint them in dyes. Let it dry and only then remove the adhesive mask.
Step 5
You can wrap the eggs with elastic bands, ribbons, lace (the latter can also be fixed with elastic bands). After staining, allow to dry, and remove the elastic bands and lace. This produces cute striped eggs.
Step 6
For a streak pattern, wrap colored threads or floss around the egg. Cook it hard boiled.
Step 7
Marble eggs look beautiful and unusual. For this effect, add vegetable oil to the water with the dye and stir. After the first staining, dry the eggs, then dip them one by one in an oil solution, collecting drops of oil on the surface of the egg. After pulling out, dip them with a napkin and dry.
Step 8
You don't have to paint the eggs in any color, but use markers and felt-tip pens. You can also paint the eggs with wax crayons. To do this, paint on the eggs while they are still warm. Then the wax will melt a little and you will get beautiful patterns. During work, it is better to put the egg on a small stand, so as not to spoil the pattern afterwards. Let the eggs cool for an hour.
Step 9
Decoupage technique. To do this, you need a bag of gelatin and beautiful napkins. Soak gelatin in water, heat. Cut out the pattern you like from the napkin. Attach the design to the egg, apply gelatin over it with a brush from the center to the edges. Let dry.
Step 10
And perhaps the fastest way to decorate eggs is with thermal stickers. Before the holiday, they are sold everywhere, they can be used quickly and easily. Put a sticker on the boiled egg, dip it in boiling water. When the sticker sticks around the egg, take it out and cool. For iron-on size, choose medium sized eggs.
