Wedding accessories can be bought in stores or ordered online - the assortment is so wide that you will surely find something to your liking. However, some of the little things are better done by hand. For example, you can create a one-of-a-kind book for wishes. Put all your love and anticipation of the holiday into it, relax before a responsible event and tune in to the right mood.

It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - cardboard;
  • - a needle;
  • - threads;
  • - glue;
  • - the cloth;
  • - ribbons / lace / beads.

Instructions

Step 1

Determine the paper size you need. It only depends on your preferences. The size of the sheets should be twice the final size of the book. For example, for an A5 album, you will need A4 sheets.

Step 2

The weight of the paper should be approximately 120 g / m2. Paper this thick will not warp with the glue when you place wedding photos in the book. The ink that will be used to write wishes will be translucent and printed on the next page.

Step 3

Come up with a color scheme in which the book will be made. Traditional wedding albums are created from materials in pastel shades - they choose beige, light blue, light green paper, and complement it with a slightly darker or contrasting cover. However, you can deviate from the canons and make the book bright and unusual.

Step 4

Fold the sheets of paper in half. Insert them into each other 3-5 pieces, forming notebooks. Place a stack of notebooks under the press for several hours (at least 2). Then take them out. At the bend of each block, put points at an equal distance from each other and pierce the holes with an awl. Use a gypsy needle and sturdy thread to sew the notebooks by inserting the needle through the prepared holes. Use forward stitch. In the center of the notebook and at the edge of the notebook, thread a needle under the stitch of the adjacent notebook to join them into a sturdy block.

Step 5

Trim the finished block along the edge. Draw a line, stepping back from the edge of 5 mm, attach a ruler to it and cut off the excess with a clerical knife. When doing this, do not press down on the knife.

Step 6

Cut out endpapers from pastel paper or double-sided scrapbooking paper. They should be the same size as the spread of the book. Fold the endpapers in half, apply glue along the fold, and attach these sheets to the first and last pages of the book.

Step 7

Prepare the component parts for the book cover. Cut 2 rectangles out of thick cardboard, which are 1 cm higher than the pages of the book. For the spine, make a rectangular blank. Its height is equal to the height of the cover. And the width is the thickness of the stitched stack of paper + 3 mm. Without cutting out a rectangle, draw two strips 3 cm wide on the sides of it. Press the place of their connection with the rectangle with a pen or pencil so that the spine is easily bent.

Step 8

Glue the cover to the spine. Step 5 mm from the fold of the spine and overlap the edge of the cover on this line. Thus, the assembled workpiece will protrude 5 mm above, below and to the right above the sheets of the book.

Step 9

You can proceed to the most creative stage. Cover the cover with fabric. If you are making a book in a classic style, choose silk or cotton in soft pastel colors. The piece of fabric should be 3 cm longer and wider than the gathered cover. Fold the edges of the fabric to the inside, press and secure with glue. On the front side, glue or sew on an ornament in the form of flowers from silk ribbons, lace, beads.

Step 10

Place the book in the cover and glue the endpapers. Decorate the pages of the book. Buy stamps with a floral or any other delicate design. Decorate the edges of the sheets with this pattern. The main area of the pages should not be overloaded with decor - they will be filled with wishes.
