How to make a squirrel costume quickly
A perfectly chic squirrel costume for a girl can be made in just a couple of hours. Required:
- faux fur, whole linen or fur trimmings;
- fur edge from the hood;
- elegant dress.
The dress can be any, the main thing is that it looks festive. Sew a fur skirt with straps as companions to the dress. For a skirt, take a beige, light brown or reddish-colored fur fabric, a little wider than the hips and so long that the skirt is shorter than the dress. If there is no solid piece of fur, assemble a rectangular piece of scrap by sewing them from the wrong side over the edge.
Sew the canvas. Sew an elastic band equal to the volume of the dress to the upper edge of the skirt, from the wrong side. Cut out the straps of the required length from the fur and sew to the skirt. Put the finished sarafan on the dress and sew the straps and the skirt to the dress with secret stitches so that the sundress does not shift.
It remains to make a ponytail. Take the fur trim, fold it in half and tuck it at the top, in the middle of the back, and at the bottom to the skirt. Cut out small triangles from the fur to simulate ears and attach them to the headband. The result is a cute New Year squirrel costume.
Squirrel gabardine suit
You know how to sew well, do not be lazy and sew a children's carnival squirrel costume from gabardine or crepe. Cut out and sew a flared sun skirt. To make it fluffy, sew a lower wide skirt from the lining fabric and starch it. Sew ruffled straps to the skirt, cross them on the back. Trim the bottom of the skirt with a fur trim.
Choose a beautiful light blouse under the sundress. You can decorate it with a mushroom or pine cone applique. Cut a scarf on your head and sew small fur ears onto it. Cut out two parts of the tail from the same fur, sew them and stuff with padding polyester, giving the tail the desired bend. Clip it to the back of your skirt. By the way, the ears and tail can be knitted with elongated loops or used for knitting "grass" yarn.
