Step 1
You can feel the New Year's mood in Prague already from the beginning of December - it is at this time that St. Nicholas comes to the city, who begins to go around the houses where children live and find out how they behaved during the year. If you decide to spend your winter holidays in a magical city, it is better to come to Prague either at Christmas (do not forget that the Czech Republic is a Catholic country), or three or four days after the holiday. Immediately after Christmas, the townspeople have a rest - most shops and restaurants are closed, transport runs poorly. But after a break, preparations for the New Year begin.

If you are staying at a hotel, for sure he will offer you a New Year's program for a fee. Also, walking around the city, you will see advertisements on the doors of restaurants inviting you to spend a festive night in this particular place. If you do not intend to spend a holiday within four walls, go for a walk in the Old City. Towards twelve, walk to Old Town Square, where the famous Prague Orloj is located. If you are not a supporter of cheerful mass festivities, meet the New Year on Wenceslas Square, where a concert is taking place at this time. The crowd is much calmer there.

The impression of the holiday will be incomplete if you do not come to the Charles Bridge on the evening of January 1. Touch the statue of Jan Nepomuk, who grants wishes (you will recognize him one by one from those thirsty for a New Year's miracle). To top off the day, Charles Bridge is the best place to admire the magnificent half-hour fireworks display.
