Painted eggs, or dyed eggs, are one of the most important symbols of the Easter holiday. Thanks to modern dyes, eggs can be dyed in any color. You can also apply patterns or decorate the eggs with Easter-themed stickers. But it is best to color the eggs with regular onion peels. It's simple, natural and very beautiful!

It is necessary

  • Eggs - 10 pcs.;
  • Onion peels - 2/3 of the pan;
  • Salt - 1 table spoon;
  • Water.

Instructions

Step 1

In order to paint eggs in onion skins for Easter, you must first prepare a decoction. Put the onion husks in a saucepan, tamp a little so that it takes up about half of the pan. Pour the husk with water, salt and boil for about 40-50 minutes.

Step 2

The hot ready-made broth should stand for 2 hours, after which it must be well filtered.

Step 3

Place the eggs in the strained liquid and cook them for 10 minutes, periodically turning over with a spoon.

Step 4

Put the finished eggs, painted in onion skins, in cool water to cool.

Step 5

Cool Easter eggs should be wiped dry with a towel. To make the eggs glossy, you can then wipe them with a cloth with a few drops of vegetable oil.

Step 6

To make Easter eggs painted in onion skins original, you can make them "marbled". To do this, the husks of different colors need to be crushed (the less, the better), add pieces of paper. Thoroughly roll wet eggs in onion skins so that they completely cover the eggs, wrap with pieces of gauze or nylon, tie this "bag". Boil eggs in water for 30 minutes over low heat. Then you need to remove the gauze, rinse the eggs and wipe with a towel.

Step 7

For an unusual pattern, the husked eggs can be boiled with rice, millet or peas. Wet the eggs and divide into 3 parts: roll 1 part in dry rice, the second in millet, and add peas to the third. Place each egg in a gauze or nylon bag, the ends of which are secured with threads. Boil the egg bags in the onion peel broth. Such eggs, dyed in onion skins, are speckled.
