Scarlet Sails is a beautiful and romantic holiday for all graduates, which is held every year in St. Petersburg. This year it will take place on the night of June 23-24, the shortest night of the year.
The holiday will be held according to the tradition that has already developed since 2004. First, a concert on Palace Square for graduates, about 20 thousand people are expected. You can get there only by invitation. In parallel with it, a concert will be held on the Spit of Vasilievsky Island for guests and residents of the city. Both concerts will start at 23:00.
It is not yet known who will perform at this event, although it was stated that the list of artists was formed taking into account the wishes of the alumni. At the moment, only the names of the hosts of the program have been named, they will be actor Ivan Urgant, who will host this event for the second year in a row, and singer Yulia Kovalchuk.
At 1:20 pm, the second stage of the "Scarlet Sails" holiday will begin - a musical pyrotechnic show in the water area of the Neva. Admission to this event will be free. It will be a peculiar and unusual show on the water. Its culmination will be the appearance of a ship under scarlet sails, which will have to represent Captain Gray's sailing ship.
By the time the pyrotechnic show will last about 30 minutes, this is due to the length of the night. Since this is the shortest of all the white nights of St. Petersburg, and the dark time of the day just should be enough just to hold this show. After that, dawn comes very quickly.
For the convenience of graduates, guests and residents of the city, some changes will be made to the daily routine in St. Petersburg. So, for example, 13 metro stations located in the city center will start working on June 24 from 4 am so that everyone can get to their homes normally. In addition, due to the event, the schedule for the opening of bridges across the Neva will be changed.
The organizers of the event promised to take into account all the comments that were made to them in previous years, as well as listen to suggestions from graduates of past years regarding the holding of this holiday.
