June 6 is the birthday of the genius poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. In 2010, it was decided to devote this day to the Russian language. The whole country began to celebrate Pushkin Day back in 1997, and a corresponding presidential decree was issued about this. The merger of the two holidays into one went harmoniously and naturally, because the great poet and the great language are inextricably linked for centuries.
