A traditional present for the holiday of all lovers is a paper valentine. A small piece of cardboard in the shape of a heart with a mandatory declaration of love can be made original and unusual by decorating it with available materials at hand.

Step 1
Decorate the card with beads
Make miniature figurines from bright red or ruby beads - these can be hearts, flowers, petals, stars, etc. By themselves, they will look original and interesting, but if you stick them on a regular Valentine's card made of cardboard, you will get a unique handmade postcard. You can use it as a bookmark - attach the decorative element to a shiny string and throw it over the fold of the card, securing it with one end on top.

Stick hearts on the canvas
You can take ready-made stickers in the form of hearts or cut out details from red paper, attach them to glue. Volumetric figures look beautiful, so choose dense materials.

Decorate the card with a ribbon
"Seal" your message by dragging the valentine from the outside with a thin pink or red satin ribbon. Tie a nice bow, cut the corners curly and secure the ribbon with glue.

Cover the paper with lace
A small scarlet lace fabric on a white sheet of paper looks extraordinarily impressive - such a valentine simply “breathes” with passion and calls for action. The lace needs to be fixed well, so make sure that the fabric does not overtighten or wrinkle. You can glue the mesh material to the paper by dripping glue or using a special spray in an aerosol can.

Tie the corners of the valentine
If you crochet well, then use your talents for decorative purposes - tie the corners of the card with thin contrasting threads, make a cloth bookmark, or glue a knitted heart into one of the outer corners of the card.

The graceful drapery, located at the corners of the card, in combination with bright details, will give your gift an elegant and aristocratic look - textile valentines look very elegant.

Decorate the outside of the card with a huge heart
Stick or draw a heart so that the fold of the valentine coincides with the central part of the figure - then on each part of the card there will be a half of a red heart. The central figurine can be signed, decorated with an intricate pattern or monogram.
