The innovative project "Beach Libraries" allows you to spend time at sea with benefits not only for the body, but also for the soul. The idea of creating an open-air library belongs to the organization for the protection of the environment in the Italian city of Castellabate.
This idea was a tremendous success among the townspeople and tourists. Over time, makeshift bookcases began to appear on the coast of other cities in Italy, as well as in the Netherlands and Ukraine. An increasing number of people prefer to relax at sea with a fascinating book in their hands. Moreover, to take literature on the beach you do not need any documents or money, you just need to go to the shelf and choose what interests you.
This project makes life much easier for tourists and ordinary people who like to lie in the sun, since now there is no need to take heavy books from home. The beach library stocks are stocked with literature for every taste.
The functioning of the European Beach Library is based on the principle of the normal reading room. Anyone can rent a book or magazine for free. Leaving the place of rest, the reader undertakes to return the book to its place. For the convenience of beach reading lovers, separate secluded corners equipped with beach umbrellas are being created on the coast. These places reliably protect bibliophiles from the noise, wind and spray of the sea.
In addition, the organizers are happy to replenish the funds of the beach libraries by donating books from readers. After the end of the beach season, all literature returns to its place in the city's public libraries.
