The tradition of decorating a Christmas tree in the New Year is rooted in distant pagan times. The Christmas tree was then revered as a means of protecting the home from evil spirits, darkness and cold and a symbol of triumph over death. The most enjoyable part of preparing for the holiday, and today for us, is decorating the Christmas tree. And I really want to see toys made with their own hands on the forest beauty next to the purchased ones.

It is necessary

  • - colored paper, cardboard;
  • - gouache, acrylic paints;
  • - wrapping;
  • - satin and paper ribbons;
  • - beads, small beads;
  • - colored paper clips;
  • - small boxes;
  • - walnuts;
  • - glue;
  • - scissors;
  • - awl, thin drill.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, try to make your own decorative garland. As a material for this, cones, paper, cardboard, plywood, small Christmas tree toys are suitable. Draw and cut out figures of snowmen and deer, small Christmas trees and houses, stars, snowflakes, lanterns from colored cardboard or colored paper.

Step 2

Do not forget about the symbol of the coming year - the dragon. Cut out the little dragons from corrugated cardboard and paint with green gouache or acrylic. You can use ordinary cardboard or thin plywood, pasting them with green corrugated paper or painting them with paints. Glue the eyes and nose of confetti or small beads, beads to the figures.

Step 3

Use an awl or thick needle to make a hole in each figure and insert a colored paper clip into it. Take a bright satin ribbon and, putting the prepared figures on it, collect the garland. If the figurines are attached to the ribbon with paper clips, you can swap them at any time or replace them when the garland is already hanging in its intended place, decorating the wall or cornice of your house.

Step 4

Find small boxes in the house (or glue together from thick paper or cardboard). Matchboxes are also suitable for this purpose. Wrap each one in glittery wrapping paper and tie pretty bows using ribbons from the flower or gift dealerships. Leave the long ends of the ribbons free so that you can use them to tie or hang the boxes on the tree.

Step 5

Take large walnuts, make holes through them with a thin drill or awl. Paint the nuts with gold or silver acrylic paint (you can use a spray can). When the paint is dry, pass a narrow (about 0.5 cm) satin ribbon of the appropriate color through the hole. Tie a knot at the bottom, a bow at the top, leaving the ends of the ribbons long to hang the nuts on the forest beauty.
