The main event on Christmas Eve is undoubtedly the festive feast. The main dish should be juicy, made from wheat grains soaked in water. This is a symbol of the birth of Jesus. You also need to prepare jelly or compote from ripe, dried berries. In Christianity, this is compared to the end of life. You can add kutya and baked fish to the menu. All dishes must certainly be lean and let their number not exceed twelve. The famous Christmas goose is best cooked the next day. Do not forget that you should start your meal as soon as the first asterisk appears. This moment in Orthodoxy is considered the birth of Christ.

It is on Christmas Eve that carols begin. The participants in this action are usually children who come to the houses and entertain the owners, receiving some kind of reward for this. It has long been believed that on this day, good fights against evil. Good calls for carols and fun, and evil lures for fortune-telling. As an alternative to the last lesson, it is better to come up with a secret wish that will come true if you see a shooting star.
