World Teachers' Day has been celebrated in more than a hundred countries around the world since 1996. This is not just a holiday for educators, but a reason to think about their importance. And, of course, a reason to think about a gift.
When is Teacher's Day?
In Russia, since 1994, Teacher's Day has been celebrated on October 5, until that time the holiday fell on the first Sunday in October, not tied to a date.
In Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova and Ukraine, the holiday is celebrated on the first Sunday in October. In Uzbekistan - October 1. In Estonia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Teacher's Day is held at the same time as in Russia - October 5.
We figured out the dates. Such an event cannot be ignored. Already two weeks in advance, the schools are talking about and preparing for the holiday. Students draw wall newspapers, arrange concerts and give gifts.
What to give a teacher?
1. The most popular gift is flowers. Bouquets are brought to school in about the same quantity as on September 1, but this does not make the gift worse. Moreover, the bouquet often comes with another present. Approach the choice of a bouquet carefully: you should not take the first one that comes along or rely on the seller in this choice, especially if you do not take a ready-made bouquet, but flowers separately. Later, you may find that some of the flowers are of poor quality.
You can deviate from the usual standards and take not just flowers in a cellophane or paper wrapper, but order a floral arrangement. So your gift will definitely stand out against the background of the rest of the roses and chrysanthemums, sadly standing in almost identical wrappers. In addition, the floristic composition can be an independent gift that does not require any additions.
Bouquets can also be presented to male teachers. Turning to the florist, clarify that the bouquet is intended for a man and when you get the result, you will see that male and female bouquets are different.
2. Stationery. A very good gift for a teacher. Only they should be really high quality and good. Not colored pens or a set of markers, but organizers, stylish accessories or pens from good companies. When choosing your stationery, remember that the gift is for an adult, not a child.
3. "Present for the class." You don't have to give a personal gift. If you give a gift that is necessary for the class, the teacher will willingly accept it and will only rejoice! Unfortunately, this joy is caused by the lack of funding for educational institutions. Of course, not everywhere, but in some regions. Often teachers check their notebooks in class to avoid taking work home. This is where a good desk lamp can come in handy. You can also give your favorite teacher a comfortable chair, a board for notes and announcements, a wall clock or potted plants.
4. Special items for Teacher's Day gifts. It can be a mug with congratulations for the holiday, an engraved flash drive, the teacher's name. There is even a personalized tea "Happy Teacher's Day!" and the same set of honey. By the way, pens or diaries can also be engraved.
5. Gifts of interest. This option is suitable for those who communicate well with the teacher and are aware of his personal interests. You can give him subjects related to the discipline that he teaches or something that will be useful in his hobbies.
