The preparation for Easter itself begins during Holy Week from Monday to Saturday.
Instructions
Step 1
Monday
On this day, you need to start cleaning the house. Special attention is paid to window cleaning. Since ancient times, it was believed that clean windows let the light of the holiday into the house.
Step 2
Tuesday
According to old customs, on this day it was supposed to make "juicy milk". They pushed hemp and flaxseed, mixed with water and watered the cattle. To protect it from all diseases.
Step 3
Wednesday
In the middle of Holy Week, our ancestors still collected melt water, diluted salt in it and sprayed their homes, livestock, so that there would be no evil eye all year round.
Step 4
Thursday
Maundy Thursday is also called Clean. On this day, it is customary to thoroughly clean the house and decorate it, but do not take revenge (you can sweep from Monday to Wednesday). You need to stock up on some clean water for Sunday to wash your face with it.
On this day, you need to count all the money three times in order to live the whole year without need. By the way, for the same reason, from Thursday to Easter, nothing is given or taken out of the house.
Step 5
Friday
The most difficult day when Christ was crucified. On this day, believers must strictly fast and pray a lot.
Easter cakes are baked and eggs are dyed on Friday. Store eggs until Sunday in the refrigerator.
Step 6
Saturday
On this day, from morning to evening, cakes, Easter cakes and eggs are brought to the temples to consecrate them.
If someone did not have time to bake Easter cakes, this can be done on Saturday. But not Sunday.
Step 7
Sunday
Instead of "Good morning", when waking up, it is customary for all their relatives and friends to say "Christ is Risen!"
You need to start the day by washing with Thursday water, putting something silver in it. Such washing will bring beauty and prosperity. And then the Easter feast. It begins with consecrated eggs. This custom is believed to strengthen the family.
