Who said that the museum is boring ?! Contemporary museums in Russia are ready to offer visitors a variety of expositions, unusual inserts, exciting journeys into the world of the past.
Instructions
Step 1
In Moscow, visit the Museum of Private Collections at 10 Volkhonka Street. This is a young exposition center, where today you can see collections of art collected over decades and donated to the museum. Each exhibit seems to complement the other, creating a complete picture of perception.
Step 2
Take a look at the State Darwin Museum (Moscow, Vavilova, 57), whose exhibitions are updated monthly. This is a fascinating journey through the milestones of human evolution. Most of the exhibits do not need comments, besides, the museum staff have come up with a unique move - they offer visitors something like a self-study guide that tells about the expositions. You can watch, read and even touch something. But still, if time permits, invite a guide, you will appreciate how diverse and unusual the world around you is.
Step 3
A bit shocking and very natural Museum of Creativity and Life in the GULAG under the "Memorial" society (Moscow, Maly Karetny per., 12). It may not be worth walking around the expositions with children, but adults need to look at the horrors of war and camp life.
Step 4
In the cultural capital, in addition to the Hermitage, the State Museum, visit the private museum of contemporary art Erarta (St. Petersburg, 29th line, 2). Installations and videographies are mesmerizing. Be sure to check out the Erarta MOTION PICTURES short film festival in March.
Step 5
Lovers of avant-garde art will love the museum in the former house of Mikhail Matyushin and Elena Guro - the Museum of the Petersburg Avant-garde. In addition to the collection of paintings, sculptures and other objects of fine art from different years, a workshop of avant-garde artists has been recreated here, as well as a collection of Matyushin's violins.
Step 6
You can get acquainted with the culture of the Tatar people in the National Museum of the Republic (Tatarstan, Kazan, Kremlevskaya Street, 2). This is a real research center, and therefore a visit to it can be successfully combined with part of the educational program of students.
Step 7
There are about 30 museums with the richest funds in the Arkhangelsk region. Here everyone will find something to see. Literary Museum, Regional Museum of Local Lore, Museum of Fine Arts, Historical and Architectural Museum (all in Arkhangelsk). See exhibitions at the Cow Museum in Lyavle. Walk around the Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard (Arkhangelsk, Nikolsky prospect, 15).
Step 8
Beyond the Urals, it is worth visiting Novokuznetsk, the Kuznetsk Fortress Museum - a whole architectural composition of military fortifications that have never taken part in hostilities.
