The New Year's table should be not only tasty and plentiful, but also beautiful. Therefore, you need to take care of all the little things, because they can set the tone for a festive dinner. Try to decorate the table with napkins. Even if in ordinary life you do not use them, it is worth making an exception for the holiday.
Instructions
Step 1
Thinking over the design of the table, take into account the color of the tablecloth and dishes, the multicolor of dishes and bottles. Do not make the table too colorful. Choose plain textiles, stripes and flowers - a sign of an everyday dinner, they are not dressy enough for a holiday. It is best to purchase linen napkins - they are practical, durable, do not wrinkle and look very stylish. If there are no suitable napkins in stores, sew them yourself.
Step 2
Choose a color for your napkins. On the table, served with white dishes, red, blue, green shades look very elegant. Do you have a beautiful set with flowers? Choose napkins to match the patterns - pink, beige, cream or gold. On bright plates, napkins of harmonious colors will look spectacular. Blue linen is beautifully combined with blue dishes, light yellow is suitable for orange. If the table is decorated with a composition of flowers and spruce branches, choose napkins to match, creating a single ensemble. Classic snow-white napkins are always beautiful. For a formal dinner, they can be starched and folded in a simple cone.
Step 3
On a festive New Year's Eve, napkins can be decorated with additional decor. Roll them up and tie them with a bright silk ribbon tied with a bow. Or try some fun napkin rings made from baby hair ties. Choose elastic bands in the New Year's style, with figures of snowmen, Christmas balls, snowflakes. Such rings will become small holiday souvenirs for guests.
Step 4
Try napkin folding. One of the simplest and most effective is the fan. Collect the canvas with an even accordion along the shared thread. Fold the accordion in half and squeeze the fold tightly, securing it. Carefully place the napkin on the snack plate, gently fanning it out.
Step 5
Another simple option is a napkin cone. Fold the canvas in four and iron it. Spread the napkin on a flat surface and unfold it so that it is folded in half. Take the edges of the fabric and tuck them inward, forming an inclined cone. Place the resulting shape on a plate and decorate it with a bunch of spruce branches and small spray roses.
