Even a child can make a postcard with his own hands - it will not be difficult to draw a picture on cardboard or make an applique. However, if you want a more interesting result, try to master the pop-up technique.

It is necessary

  • - cardboard;
  • - pencil;
  • - ruler;
  • - paper knife;
  • - scissors;
  • - glue.

Instructions

Step 1

Take two sheets of cardboard. One of them will be the cover of the postcard, the second will be the inner part. They should vary in color. Cut out two identical rectangles and fold in half. Set the cover aside.

Step 2

Unfold the inside of the card and place it horizontally in front of you. Using a ruler and pencil, draw several narrow stripes going perpendicularly through the fold of the card. Place the strips parallel, 2-3 cm apart. Make the first fragment short (5 cm), the next 2 cm longer, then short again - vary the length of the strips as you see fit.

Step 3

Using a paper knife, cut the sides of the rectangles, leaving the top and bottom intact. To make the lines straight, apply a ruler to them, hold the knife perpendicular to the surface of the paper.

Step 4

Bend the strips forward along the finished fold line, so that they form a kind of "steps". On the front edge of each protrusion, you will need to glue a decorative element cut from cardboard. These can be letters of congratulation, flowers, balloons, etc.

Step 5

Design the cover of the postcard. Cut a floral or geometric pattern around its perimeter. Draw such a frame with a pencil, then carefully cut out the details with a paper knife. In the center of the card, make a picture corresponding to the holiday. To style it with the interior, cut it out of cardboard and glue it on. For example, you can cut several flowers of the same shape but different sizes. Glue the blanks one on top of the other, placing the largest one below, then the middle and the smallest.

Step 6

Connect the two pieces of the postcard. Apply adhesive around the perimeter and spread with a paper strip or brush. Be careful not to get any glue in the cutouts on the cover and on the stripes on the inside. Leave the card unfolded to dry under a press. When the glue is dry, fold the card and press it for 2-3 hours.
