Necessary

  • Smooth work surface on which you can safely cut paper without ruining the table.
  • A utility knife or paper blade.
  • Scissors. Pencil. Ruler.
  • Paper - 2-3 sheets with different texture and color.
  • Ribbons, braid, foil, tinsel and similar attributes of the New Year for decorating postcards. In addition, you can buy flat figurines of Christmas angels, Christmas trees, snowmen, snowflakes, etc. (or make them yourself in silicone polymer clay molds).

Instructions

Step 1

As the basis of the postcard, take a sheet of thick paper measuring 15 x 20 cm. It must be divided exactly in half and bent. With a pencil, using a ruler with circles, a compass or an ordinary glass, it is necessary to mark and cut out the roundings on the edges of the future postcard.

Step 2

From the second sheet (for example, green, like a Christmas tree, corrugated paper), you need to cut a rectangle 13 x 8, 5 cm. Then you need to round off the edges of the rectangle in the same way as in the previous time. You can use special hole punches that cut the edges straight, rounded, and even with patterns.

Step 3

It is worth choosing a ribbon, "rain" or tinsel, so that the postcard is tied like a surprise souvenir.

Then you need to glue the entire surface of the second (green corrugated) rectangle on the back with double-sided tape. After the protective film of the adhesive tape is removed, it is necessary to evenly glue the second rectangle directly on top of the ribbon on the plane of the postcard, carefully smooth it out and press it gently.

Step 4

It's time to pick up the elements for the next stage of the postcard design - for example, another rectangle (a sheet of embossed paper measuring 11 x 6.5 cm) and braid or tinsel. Tinsel (braid) must be sealed on the reverse side with double-sided tape, attach it to the smallest rectangle made of embossed paper, gently bend the edges of the sheet and glue the rectangle with a ribbon on the back with double-sided tape. Then it's time to glue the rectangle with tape to the plane of the main postcard and press it. It will be possible to attach other New Year's elements to this surface with "superglue" - sparkles, figurines, etc.
