Since 2001, an interesting and unusual event has been held in Berlin and Potsdam - "The Long Night of Science". One day in early summer, from 5 pm to 1 am, the doors of research laboratories are opened in front of everyone, and various events aimed at popularizing science are held.

Step 1
The list of scientific schools that want to talk about their achievements and the problems they are working on is growing every year. Find out in advance the schedule of events in order to choose the ones that interest you. On the "Long Night" page, you can create an individual program for yourself. If you do not speak German, use the help of a translator. There you can also order tickets that will serve as both a pass to the event and a travel document.
Step 2
Since Germany has signed the Schengen Agreement, you will need a Schengen visa to visit this country. You can find a list of documents required for obtaining a visa on the embassy's website. If you live far from Moscow, you do not have to travel to the capital to apply for a visa. Find the German consulate near your city:

Step 3
Download application forms for Schengen and German national visa applications. The Schengen application can be filled out in German or Russian, the national one - only in German.
Step 4
To obtain a visa you will need an invitation from a private person or a hotel booking certificate. You can choose a hotel and book a place on the Internet. There you can also order a car rental if you prefer to move around the city on your own.
Step 5
Plan your route to Potsdam. You can choose the type of transport and order tickets via the Internet. Go to Routes.ru, and enter the departure point and Potsdam in the appropriate fields. Select the checkboxes of the modes of transport you are going to use and click "Find".
