Autumn is considered a great time for mushroom picking. You can collect them in central Russia until late autumn. This activity is very exciting and healthy. However, when picking mushrooms, you need to follow certain rules.
Instructions
Step 1
It is best to pick mushrooms after rain. Make sure that your shoes are lightweight and waterproof, and be sure to put something on your head in order to avoid being bitten by various insects. To make it easier to find the mushroom, take a long stick - it is convenient for it to push the foliage and grass apart.
Step 2
In order to avoid poisoning with poisonous mushrooms in the future, collect those mushrooms that are well known to you.
Step 3
It is advisable to go for mushrooms in the morning. At this time, the dew has not yet disappeared and the mushrooms will be easy to spot.
Step 4
The best container for picking mushrooms is a wicker basket. It is light and mushrooms will not be remembered in it. Place the mushrooms head down in the basket to keep them intact.
Step 5
If you find a very large mushroom, then do not rush to put it in the basket. These mushrooms are usually wormy and can infect other mushrooms.
Step 6
Be sure to cut off the mushrooms so as not to damage the mycelium. After that, it is better to cover the mycelium with leaves or needles so that mushrooms will grow again in this place.
Step 7
Many mushrooms can be found on forest edges, hills, in shady ravines. Fungi are rarely found in too dark and dense forests, in tall grass.
Step 8
If you come across toadstools, then you do not need to knock them down with a stick or foot. For humans, these mushrooms are poisonous, but for moose, bears and birds, such mushrooms are a real delicacy.
