Many Russians have a difficult relationship with Halloween. Some consider the holiday alien and unnecessary, others willingly dress up in scary costumes and frighten those around them with an eerie make-up. For those who think Halloween is a good excuse to have some fun and play, simple ways to quickly throw a themed party will come in handy. The main thing is to prepare a suitable treat and decorate the room.
A child can cope with the simplest, but effective recipe. Buy ready-made chocolate or creamy mousse or yogurt, arrange in bowls and add a few gummy worms to each serving. Another option for a quick themed dish is the most common oatmeal cookies, on which they put several stripes of white mastic to look like mummy bandages. And if you have time, you can bake an ordinary shortbread cookie and paint it with scary patterns. For example, a figure of a man will look more suitable for the holiday if you depict a skeleton on it with glaze.
For the most anxious guests who are not ready to eat fake worms, you can serve a treat from the main vegetable of autumn - pumpkin sticks. A pound of pumpkin pulp should be cut into cubes about 5 cm and no thicker than 1 cm, put on a baking sheet and baked for 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Then put the cubes in a bowl, add three tablespoons of pumpkin oil and peeled pumpkin seeds, a couple of garlic cloves, salt, mix, return to a baking sheet and bake for another 15 minutes, raising the temperature to 210 degrees. This appetizer is served both warm and cold.
Drinking food at a Halloween party should certainly be "blood". Its role is perfectly played by tomato juice and cranberry juice.
Covering the table on the feast of All Saints' Eve must certainly be done with a black cloth. It is not necessary to buy a new tablecloth; a couple of meters of plain-dyed coarse calico is enough. The atmosphere will be added by the fragments of old candles, it is even better to buy thick white candles and pour over them with red paraffin, imitating blood streaks. Bats of different sizes can be cut out of black paper, cobwebs can be made from ordinary white yarn, and huge hairy spiders can be made from chenille wire. All these decorations are hung from the ceiling, walls, etc. Table tennis balls and plastic eyes for crafts make excellent "eyeballs" that you can not only spread around the house, but also slip into your guests' pockets and bags so that surprises await them even at home.
